
From 26th to 29th September 2024, the Institute of Mathematics and Informatics at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, under the patronage of UNESCO and with the support of the Scientific Research Fund (КП-06-МНФ/13/23.05.2024) and the Municipality of Burgas, organized the Fourteenth International Conference “Digital Presentation and Preservation of Cultural and Scientific Heritage” – DiPP2024.

The conference aimed to present innovations, projects and scientific and applied developments in the field of digital documentation, archiving, presentation and preservation of world and national tangible and intangible cultural and scientific heritage. The main focus was on ensuring open access to digitized national cultural and scientific heritage and pursuing sustainable policies for its continued digital preservation and preservation. The new project of the Institute of Mathematics and Informatics – BAS BG-RRP-2.011-0004 “Innovative software platform for serious educational games with creative visualization for building competence and responsible management of natural resources” (ProNature, https://pronature-project.math.bas.bg/) was presented for the first time. The main goal of the project is to conduct scientific research and develop new technological solutions for an innovative software platform for serious educational games with creative visualization with a technology readiness level 7 (TRL 7) for building competence for natural ecosystems, responsible management of natural resources and environmental protection. The Burgas Lake Ecosystem has been chosen as the natural ecological basis for this project due to its exceptional biodiversity, the most significant protected natural complex with a concentration of waterfowl on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast. The project is funded under Contract No. ПВУ-2 от 27.05.2024 г. /BG-RRP-2.011- 0004-С01/ from the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF) in implementation of investment C2.I2 “Enhancing the innovation capacity of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences in the field of green and digital technologies” from the Recovery and Resilience Plan, with an instrument of the European Union – NextGenerationEU.
The prestigious scientific event DiPP2024 was opened on September 26th, 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Regional Library “Peio Yavorov”, Burgas.
