The seminar was attended by 27 participants from the University of Shumen, the National Library “St. Cyril and Methodius”, the Regional Library “St. Chilingirov” – Shumen, the National Library “Ivan Vazov” – Plovdiv, Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”, Plovdiv University “Paisiy Hilendarski”, RHM – Varna, the University Library of the Shumen University and the University of Calgary (Canada).
The seminar was opened with a welcoming speech by Assoc. Prof. Dr. I. Ivanova, Vice-Rector of the Shumen University “Bishop Konstantin Preslavski”.
All texts requested for participation were presented by the speakers. Reports and announcements were made by Velka Popova and Krasimir Kordov (on the results of the Laboratory of Applied Linguistics of the University of Shumen ); by Dimitar Minev, Antoaneta Lessenska and Ivan Krachanov (on the digital resources of the Ivan Vazov National Library – Plovdiv); by Ivo Bratanov and Kolyo Hubenov (on Bulgarian Renaissance manuscripts and documents and their publication in an electronic environment); by Krasimira Alexandrova (on the creation of an innovative environment for access to the literary and documentary heritage related to Hristo Botev); by Danko Georgiev (on the digital resources of the Regional Library – Shumen); by Yordanka Moskova (on the digitization of old printed, rare and valuable editions in the Shumen University library). All speakers proposed innovative approaches to contemporary humanities through which some resources become publicly accessible.
The attending specialists joined the discussion and asked a number of questions to the participants.
The training seminar was the first of its kind at the University of Shumen.
